The Knights Bingo Sessions provides a wonderful chance to win money and have a good time. Arrive early and play pickles and win even more money. Last year the Knights paid out a total in excess of $156,000 dollars in prize money to its bingo players.

  • November is veterans appreciation month. Veterans buy one bingo packet, get one free.
  • Players that bring a new player buy one bingo packet, get one free.
  • On every fourth visit, customers buy one bingo packet, get one free.
  • Customers that buy two bingo packets get a free triple-sheet for the first-half double action game.
  • Customers that buy three or more bingo packets get free triple-sheets for both first-half and second-half double action games.
]]> http://www.kofc1214.org/activities/bingo/ KofC1214 Wed, 12 Nov 2008 10:27:52 -0700 Knights Continue Tootsie Roll Tradition On Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, Knights of Columbus Council 1214 will continue the decades-old tradition of the Tootsie Roll drive to benefit the intellectually disabled. The drive takes place at Fort Collins grocery stores. On the following weekend, the drive will continue after Masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

This tradition dates back to 1970, when three Knights with intellectually disabled daughters distributed Tootsie Rolls a means of raising awareness of the needs of the intellectually disabled in their own city of Chicago, Illinois.

The Knights of Council 1214 do not ask for donations during the Tootsie Roll event. They ask only that in this simple act of exchanging a piece of candy, the citizens of Fort Collins reflect on the lives of some of God’s special children. But the Knights do accept donations, and 100% of proceeds are donated to Foothills Gateway in our own community.

Each year the Knights accept applications for the scholarship from young Catholics in the community. Heidi Mayer was selected from a pool of excellent applicants for her academic and athletic achievements, as well as participation in numerous community, school, and church activities. Heidi's family belongs to Blessed John XXIII Catholic Parish, and Heidi graduated from Rocky Mountain High School this spring with a 4.0 GPA

Heidi has received a $1000 scholarship from the Knights of Columbus for study at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Also Heidi is recipient of the Humanitarian Award at Rocky Mountain High School for her "commitment to improving the human condition". In addition, Heidi will play for the CU women's soccer team, and be part of the CU President's Leadership Class. The Knights are proud to recognize the achievements of this outstanding young woman.

Starting July 6, the Bingo with the Knights will be moving BINGO back to the our hall:

Call Brother Carl at (970) 227-5001 if you are not already volunteering at Bingo and want to help at Old Fashioned Bingo when we move it back to the Knights Hall. We still need 14 more volunteers. So, when are we going to make the move? After reviewing the logistical tasks and Hall upgrades that must be accomplished, we plan to finish the 2nd Quarter at Bingo Planet on 29 and 30 June. Our Grand Reopening of Bingo at 121 N. Meldrum (our Knights Hall) will take place on Sunday, July 8, 2008; doors open at 5 PM with Bingo beginning at 6:30 PM. Then every Thursday and Sunday at those same times, we plan to run Bingo at the Knights of Columbus. We all need to make an effort to make this move a success. If you are not scheduled as a volunteer Bingo Worker, please plan to come and play and enjoy a family night out. Thank you to all who have contributed countless hours to making BINGO our primary fundraiser for 50 years. Now, let’s reinvigorate our efforts to make BINGO even more successful at our Knights of Columbus Hall!
